Twenty-Six to Forty

It’s that time again.  This week I’ve been reminiscing about Mike Patton on high school folders and

‘Hey Mr Dopeman you think you’re slick, ya sold crack to my sister and now she’s sick’

Oh the irony of a 13 year old white girl singing Straight Outta Compton.  I’ve also been listening to Epic on repeat and I’ll be damned if that wasn’t almost as catchy as Justine Clarke’s Watermelon.

26. Iggy Pop – Lust for Life

27. Daft Punk – Discovery

28. The Real Thing – Faith No More

29. Kanye West – Late Registration

30. Led Zeppelin – IV

31. Patti Smith – Easter

32. Butthole Surfers – Independent Worm Saloon

33. NWA – Straight Outta Compton

34. The Killers – Hot Fuss

35. Amy Winehouse – Back to Black

36. Jeff Buckley – Grace

37. Guns n Roses – Appetite for Destruction

38. Pavement – Crooked Rain Crooked Rain

39. Kaiser Chiefs – Employment

40. Sonic Youth – Dirty

The playlist has been updated much to my children’s horror.  I don’t think anyone wants to see their mother impersonate Michael Jackson.  You can find all forty tracks here.

Next week it’s the final countdown.  But no Europe I promise.

Thumbs up from me! Oh Mike Patton…. My one true love (even if he is a bit freaky deaky at times!) I lost my voice at Soundwave when FNM played a couple of years ago, from screaming out my love for Mike :D I was at the soundwave where he got his doodle out for the camera… lol.
Hmmmm… I think it will be a FNM day here at the Cass Can Sew house. Oh.. and all time top FNM song for me is Edge of the World ;-)

Butthole Surfers! Totally forgot about their existence!! I still listen to NWA a lot now (when Small Child’s ears are not close by… I can only imagine what she might come out with after an NWA session!!)

Back to Black – Yes!Appetite for Destruction – Hells yeeeaah!!!
Such a shame about Amy Winehouse. Loved her voice. It was pretty special.

Loving this list Carli! every time I end up listening to an old favourite and spend the rest of the day singing. Lots of great albums here.. the Kaiser Chiefs jump out though, I loved them so much when they first came out. I’ve seen them 5 times! Think i’ll pop them on ye old itunes now while the little ones nap :-)

I’m really loving this series Carli and have added your playlist to my 8 tracks ‘liked’ playlists. Also much to my children’s horror. That’s right – it’s mummy’s turn!

Great taste in music, we own a lot of the same albums, so I am bound to say that, do you use Spotify. I own a lot of my really old stuff on cassette, so I listen to it on Spotify until I get around buying it on download.
