The ‘m’ word

This week Media Watch focused on personal bloggers.  I’m not going to dissect the show or get into my thoughts on the term “mummy blogger”.  I’m pretty sure we’ve been here before and it’s all getting very weary.

Yes I find the term patronising.  No I do not like the negative discourse the word generally prompts.  All the  “OH MY GOD mummy bloggers!!  Vomit!!  Yes I think certain aspects of blogging sponsorships and affiliations warrants a little investigation, but that goes for all blogs – not just ones written by women who happen to have kids.

When the media gets over its sordid little fascination let me know.  In the meantime I made you a mummy blog.

Are you tired of the M word?

I saw the program and I’m still wondering: “What was their point?”

Your mummy blog is fabulous. I shall add it to my reader. Or maybe not.

    • It definitely seemed to lack the usual ‘oomph’ of a media watch show, but I reckon that is kudos to the women they chose to represent Aussie bloggers – no dirt to find. x
