Rooftop Bar Love

I love a good roof-top bar.  I associate them with holidays or taking a break from children and I’ve heard that both can be nice.  I have some great memories from my previous, footloose and fancy-free life that involve wonderful cocktails, great views and good company.  I thought I would share my faves here .

1. Hotel Gansevoort, NYC

This slick little find in the Meatpacking District is accessed via the foyer lift in the Hotel and when we visited had a pretty subdued, relaxed feel. I don’t believe the pool is available for use unless you are a guest of the hotel and is usually closed off during evenings.  Some great views over the Hudson River.

Located on the 64th floor of the TheHotel at Mandalay Bay, this is a nice alternative to a thumping, noisy club on the strip.  The outdoor balcony has amazing views as do the bathrooms.

3. Baiyoke Sky Hotel, Bangkok

Although there is no outdoor area the views here are equally amazing. The rooftop swimming pool was pretty special too.
